I now have a new (to me) cornea.

My surgery was this morning. It went well. I am having some R & R at a hotel in Denver and will see the doctor again tomorrow for a follow up and then I can go home. I currently am on pain meds and I have a very large cup / bandage thing over my right eye. I'm not even allowed to bend over to tie my own shoes and I'm not allowed to lift anything heavy. I feel sort of normal, but Adam says I'm not acting normal -- pain meds.

The weather is grim-- grey, misty, cold, so it's nice to stay in. My sweetest husband bought me some colored pencils and a sketch pad at the pharmacy as a suprise. I'll make you some REALLY bad art Fishie.

Last night we watched Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch" from the hotel room bed, a guilty pleasure since we have no television stations or cable at home. I fell asleep just before the big resuce scene.

I have recieved so many, many words of love and encouragement and healing by phone and email and internet and in person from so many wonderful people in the world. I feel so fortunate. I want to give all this love and healing energy back to the whole world. I want every person in the world to feel this cared for and safe and whole. Some say that it is dissatisfaction that often drives us to excel, but I think love can be a great motivator too. I want to share it.
