This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 28, 2008:
I usually hug them, cry and say thank you, thank you, thank you. :-)
sometimes I give a little gift, usually later on, spontaneously, without knowing why exactly.
sometimes I just smile. and smile. and love the giver.

beautiful, intriguing, photograph. what's the story with it?
Of several hundred photographs from the june 21st wedding of a friend'a daughter, I have more than 20 of this butterfly. It stuck around. While going through the photos with the mother of the bride we commented about how that butterfly was there for the whole ceremony and in many of the formal photos. She speculated that perhaps it was her mother who had died several years ago, making her presence and her love known to the bride on her special day. I loved the photos with the butterfly in them right from the start, but after hearing that idea, I love them even more. what a sweet gift of love that story is, no?
yep. made me cry a little, as a matter of fact. : )
thanks for asking about it. I've only been the photographer at one wedding, but I loved the whole theme of love so much. I felt so peaceful and joyful after that day. I think I could do it regularly. at fun weddings anyway. :-)
Gorgeous photo. You are an artist.
thank you thank you thank you
This is a beautiful photo and story.
I'm grateful for you. Gorgeous pic - the perfect butterfly alight on the perfect white glove with that tiny nick or bite on the child's arm just above the cuff. Juxtaposed. Grateful.
Thanks you all. thank you. thank you. thank you. thank you!
it's really one of my favorites too. I got lucky. :-)
nah. I don't think it's luck. it's a kind of photographer's grace that has to do with vision, timing, openness, and heart.
laura– now I've got tears in my eyes. (that was a challenge as a wedding photographer– do you know how hard it is to take a good photograph with tears in your eyes? or while barely standing still because you want to dance with everyone else? :-))
grace, vision, timing, openness, heart– these are things I would like to cultivate in myself as in a garden. :-) thanks for putting them together.
what did I ever do before gaia? such lovelies here.
