What would be the hardest thing to change about yourself?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 30, 2009:

the most difficult thing to change about myself might be my preferences. for things like music, food, books, art, sun & clouds in sky... , etc

for instance, I think it might be very difficult for me to stop enjoying music like this........

Emiliana Torrini - Jungle Drum

certain things just make me happy.  how could I stop them from making me happy??  not that I would want to.  :-)  and that's why it would be difficult, isn't it?- because I don't want to change them.

the things I want to change can be challenging to change, like how often I exercise or what types of food I eat, but it is possible, not that difficult once I really decide to do it.

on a physical note -- I think changing my eye color or my height would be quite tricky.  lol.

today, some words that made me happy are these...

health
wealth
wisdom
happiness
peace
harmony
beauty
creativity
compassion
kindness

I meditated on these words while doing a 90 minute bikram yoga practice.  I inhaled health, from the earth and the air and the sky, and exhaled wealth, abundance to share with the world.  if I feel healthy, I have more to offer, no?  I inhaled wisdom, up through my feet from the earth and into my lungs from the air and into my head through the sky above me, and I exhaled happiness to share with the world.  if I am wise I will offer a happy moment to another if I can, no?  I inhaled peace through my connection with earth and sky and I exhaled harmony.  when I am at peace with my self I am a harmonious presence in the world, no?  I inhaled the beauty of the earth and the sky and exhaled creativity to share.  how can I not be creative when I have such beauty to inspire me?  I inhaled compassion from the ether and exhaled kindness.  when I offer myself compassion, it is so much easier to be a force of kindness in the world.

and I thought about the differences in the way we use language.  In some languages, such as Español, one has hunger, thirst, heat or cold, rather than being hungry, thirsty, hot or cold.   so I was thinking about the whether I was healthy or whether I had health.  :-)  whether I would say to someone, may you be healthy, wealthy, wise, happy, peaceful, harmonious, beautiful, creative, compassionate & kind or if I might rather say may you have health, wealth, wisdom, happiness, peace, harmony, beauty, creativity, compassion & kindness.  ;-)

I didn't come to a conclusion, I'm still pondering the question.  and enjoying it.

now, I have to run for a bus to get to spanish class.

te quiero a todos.  <3

Dawn, you're a busy girl, I do like your meditation list very much.  I don't think I could do it once all the way through with out inhaling or exhaling the wrong thing.  Apparently I am just learning how to breathe.

sandi you always crack me up.  there is no right or wrong thing to inhale or exhale– it was just a meditation.  :-)  just keep breathing!!  that's the main thing, because once we stop breathing…..  you know.  :-)

and Bob, thank YOU for reading.  may you also have wellness / be well!
